Rum To: Calamy--Blakeney is too ill to appreciate it.
The noises coming from the boy at the rail were unpleasant, and Calamy feared he would start making them also if he came too close. The Surprise was a stiff ship, and it meant her pitches were damn rough in a freshening breeze. Calamy sighed—a true friend would help, so he walked over and patted Blakeney's back awkwardly. Blakeney tried to smile at his friend, but his stomach heaved and he bent again and retched.
"Gently now, gently," said Calamy, "I told you, a hundred days into a voyage it takes a strong stomach to handle Killick's toasted cheese."
